Service Civil International
Branch archives accessible
by Heinz Gabathuler (Aug 22, 2012)
The Archives of SCI France and its Commission for Africa, Asia and Latin America (CAAAL) have recently been made accessible to the public at the Archives Départementales du Val-de-Marne, located in Créteil near Paris.
The SCI files are part of a project of the Local Government Archives for the historical documentation of youth associations and popular education (Archives Jeunesse et Education Populaire - PAJEP).
We are happy that the history of one of the oldest and most important branches of SCI is preserved in a professional way in its own country. On top of this, SCI International Archives still contain a considerable stock of files concerning the history of the French Branch (files 30100 ff., see catalogue).
