The thesis of Nina Santner, University of Fribourg (Switzerland), focuses on the motivation of volunteers in the pacifist organization Service Civil International (SCI) in Switzerland. Its author studied the evolution of twentysix important motivations between 1920 and 1990. To determine these motivations, the following camp reports were considered: SCI brochures from 1924 to 1934, and SCI bulletins between 1935 and 1990. In addition, inscription forms could be found for the years from 1955 to 1961 and 1988 to 1989. Thanks to extensive studies of sources in SCI archives a valuable database of statistice and information has been set up.  |
